- Disappearance of Ruth Egnoski - "Circumstances of Disappearance" Ruth Egnoski disappeared in 1966. Private investigators hired by the family said she took a bus from Delavan to Chicago, but they lost her trail there. Police found Egnoski's driver's license and Social Security card in the custodian's office of Wileman Elementary School in Delavan in 1973. Her father worked there as a custodian. In 2002, police dug a 12-foot-wide pit behind 1014 Center St., Delavan, the house Egnoski lived in since it was built in 1962. Her family sold the home in 1971. Police found a crawl space under the family room of the house but no evidence connected to Egnoski's disappearance.

- Hauncheyville, WI- This is an urban legend from north of here a bit, up by Muskego. Here's the story from Wikipedia: Locals say that within the woods near Muskego, Wisconsin lives a conclave of little people, whose homes are built-to-scale and in the woods. In the mythical village is said to live an old albino man, who serves as their protector. Legend has it, if trespassers are caught, the unruly dwarves cut their legs from the knees down, so they are forced to live like one of them. According to the legend, after continuous exploitation of a number of circus dwarves, they revolted against their ring leader. After killing their master they hanged him in a wooded area, after first cutting off his arms and legs. To avoid being arrested, or even worse consequences from the circus community, the dwarves set out to create their own community, built exclusively for dwarves.

The story goes that in the woods lives an old albino man, among the dwarves. He is said to wait at the end of Mystic Drive, shot-gun in hand, to ward off anyone trying to cause trouble to the dwarves. The story also goes that he first met the group of dwarves as a child. As a young boy he accidentally stumbled upon Haunchyville and, upon instantly treating them as equals, they sheltered the young boy and raised him as one of their own. As he grew up, he notoriously defended the dwarves, often resorting to violence.

8. Phantom Hitchhiker of Hiway 12 - If you drive up hiway 12 from here, about the time you near Baraboo, you just might encounter this guy. Here's the report: "A phantom hitchhiker haunts a section of Highway 12 in the appropriately named Baraboo, Wisconsin. He looks to be from the 1960s, complete with faded jeans and a green army jacket. His hair is dark and long, and he has a beard. People have reported seeing him trying to hitch a ride, and then – after they pass him by – a mile down the road he reappears. When people actually stop to give him a ride, he vanished into thin air before reaching their vehicles. Little else is known about this mysterious spirit, but he appears not to be malevolent."
