Whitewater should have its own page since it has so many strange stories attached to it. It was a spiritualist center since the late 1800s and always had rumors of witchcraft being practiced there. Whitewater has sometimes been called The Second Salem. Here's a link to an article about all the strange goings on there: Haunted Whitewater - Witches, Spirits & Lake Monsters (cultofweird.com) This from Antonio Villarreal "While in college I had heard that there were some rather old books locked away by n the college library that I understood may have been Books of Shadows. Unfortunately they came right out and took me that there ARE certain books locked up and not available to the public or any one else actually. I never checked with the any historical society as I did not think of it then. I do wish I would have checked with the public library but I never did. Whitewater has quite a history of witchcraft and covens. I do recall that the Starin Part Water Tower was known as the Witches Tower where apparently some witch gatherings and rituals took place."

The East Troy House Bar/Restaurant - East Troy - This from My Walworth County, written by Tracy Ouellette.."Maureen “Rennie” and David Allen, who own the East Troy House and Ivan’s on the Square, say the old hotel once housed a brothel. In a previous interview, Rennie said there have been numerous ghost hunters investigating the East Troy House over the years, sometimes setting up equipment to try to measure disturbances on Halloween and other times. One time, during a previous Ghost Walk, people who were on the tour and taking photos discovered ghostlike images in the photographs when they looked at them later, David said. People have also noticed apparitions in the upstairs window of the room that is said to have been the bedroom of the brothel’s “madam” the Allens said.

Hunt Club/Legends Tavern - Lake Geneva - "- On the edge of what is now Geneva National on the southwestern golf course sits a lovely three story structure that in 1990 was transformed into an elegant restaurant and tavern.
Originally built in 1915, the three story house was first a private residence , then was turned into a sanitarium for tuberculosis patients from a large
Chicago business. At most , twelve managers and supervisors were here at one time, looked after by a medical staff and a friendly dog.
Legend says that after one patient's death, the inconsolable dog howled by his bedside all night.
After a number of years, the sanitarium closed. The house became a rental property. According to a former employee of the Hunt Club, former renters often related tales about odd footsteps sounding acorss floorboards of upper stories when all inhabitants were on the ground. There were also reports of windows and doors slamming open and shut despite being locked. The owner didn't keep up repairs , and the place was finally abandoned as unlivable.
Geneva National bought the run down house in 1990 . It required extensive renovation. Work on the building was finished in late summer of the next year, and the impressive Grand Opening scheduled for Halloween. A gala party was planned. Guest arrived at the restaurant and tavern between two huge bunches of field corn stalks anchored securely with wire on both sides of the front door. Later that night, the guests heard a wham! from the entrance. Employees rushed to investigate and found one of the corn decorations fallen across the porch. Later that same night, all the exterior lights suddenly extinguished.
People who work at the Hunt Club and Legends Tavern have gotten used to the place's unusual occurrences. Some electrical switches don't work
when toggled; later those same lights glow readily when switched on. Some even have a tendency to flick on without assistance. A manager who had locked an emergency door to the upper story decided to follow her compulsion and recheck it later. She discovered it open, despite the fact she was the only human on the premises. Some employees have heard ghostly footsteps in hallways above and doors and windows creek open and closed without assistance from human hands.
Consulted about the phenomena, a local psychic claimed she saw an 11 year old girl who continuously paces up and down the stairway. Another
claims the hauntings are a German nurse who used to work at the sanitarium. She's now looking after her patients, very concerned about giving them plenty of fresh air and sunshine. And the dog makes its mournful presence known every once in awhile with hollow howls."

Black Point - Lake Geneva - This from American Ghost Walks website: "According to legend, one of them is believed to be the spirit of a priest lost long ago when he and several nuns were making their way across the lake when a huge storm came out of nowhere. All those aboard drown. The official records indicate that there was a priest named Father James Hogan along with his siblings, and the captain John Preston, his wife, and their two-year-old child, were heading back to the landing at Kaye’s Park, which is next to Black Point. The Hogan family was eager to return home and urged Captain Preston to try to get them there despite his unease at the impending storm. The storm got so bad that onlookers couldn’t help them as the boat sank. It took about a week for all of the bodies to be recovered, the last of which was Hogan’s sister. The family is together again in death, but rumor has it that they still haunt the area. Look out for a white flutter of a baby’s dress if you venture here."

5667DelaneySt.TownofRichmond- https://maps.app.goo.gl/pLDzTpEWQy7Df5X7AGHOST HOUSE – TOWN OF RICHMOND, DELANY ROAD This lovely Italianate brick house was built by James Cameron in 1843. It had 18 rooms, 9 closets, a dumb waiter, a water system in the house and attached servant's quarters. The Camerons came to Walworth County in the early 1840s and apparently were wealthy, to be able to afford such a large, convenient house. The haunted house story began after the Civil War. James' son, Tom, was carrying on an affair with one of the maids. Various stories include illegitimate children and the death of the maid by poisoning. Other servants and members of the Cameron family reportedly saw the ghost of the maid. The current owners also have indicated that they have heard footsteps and other noises by “unknown parties.” The Delaney family next owned the house and many of the local residents think of this as The Delaney House. They had a bell which was rung at 11:30 a.m. to alert the men in the field that it was almost dinnertime. Neighbors could "set their clocks by it", it was so dependable. Another story about the Delaneys notes that their log cabin was the only one in the township to blow up! Delany had worked for the DuPont Co. When he left they gave him a keg of gun powder as a gift. This was stored in their log cabin. A fire broke out in the cabin, and the family fled rather than trying to put out the fire. No one got hurt but their house was destroyed

The Former Johnny Reynolds Supper Club or Bobby Rockets- Lyons, Wi- Hospital Rd and hwy 36 - This, from a psychic who visited Bobby Rockets : "Bobby Rocket's is a very 'active' place in the sense that you have lots of 'people' who come in and out. Some just stop by to check in, a few like to stay there and some are wandering in because they're a little lost. You have: John - who is often there. He passed on as the result of a 'farming' accident on one of the farms around your place. He loved his place and doesn't want to leave the area even though the family he had at the time is long gone. John is also more attached to the building that stood on your property before Bobby Rockets was built. It seems that there was another building there. I got the sense that it was a 'roadhouse' or a place where people spent the night as they traveled through, containing a service store of some type - maybe a general store or a smithy. This would go back late 1800's, early 1900's. This previous place is the one that John is attached to. Sarah - very little came through about her other than her name. She's connected to one of the farmhouses that are around Bobby Rocket's and just stops in every now and then out of curiousity. Very timid, quiet sort of person. She seemed to be in her late 20's early 30's. Jim - is the guy at the bar. He came through the strongest which is why he's able to move your glasses around. Jim lived locally, spent lots of time in the bars in his lifetime. He was a gruff-looking guy. I saw him in what looked like greasy old work clothes, maybe a mechanic, maybe railroad. Baggy, unkempt, unshaven. His wife died young, leaving him two sons who he never became close to. He began drinking after his wife died and alienated himself from his sons in the process. He was a lonely man, who ended up dying alone. His sons would have nothing to do with him because of who he became. Angry, bitter, lonely, unapproachable. He felt abandoned. It would be interesting to find out who he was, and then find out his wife's name. Having someone come in who could connect with her and have her finally take him home would make your place a lot quieter and finally end his loneliness. Kathleen (Kathy) - is another young spirit who hangs out upstairs. She comes back to visit because she's earthbound, but not attached to your place permanently. This was a young woman (late teens) who lived upstairs, or spent lots of time there with a man who lived there. She was a runaway, became pregnant, miscarried and eventually overdosed on drugs - not at Bobby Rockets. She comes back because she like to remember the good times she had at the place. Joe - is the teenager who was murdered out back somewhere and is buried in this woods on those hills you can see from the back/side of the place. He's close to an old boarded up well, but not in it. Joe saw something he shouldn't have - something having to do with lots of money and had to be 'disposed of'. He's still in shock and completely confused. My guess is he's from the 20's or 40's time period. May - is an older woman who stops in from time to time to 'check up on things'. Nice, no-nonsense sort of woman. She's not attached to the place, but feels more like she's attached to someone who's there often. I liked her. She's not a 'ghost' in the sense that she's stuck, she's a spirit that checks in on things in this plane of existence. Kind of like she's keeping an eye on someone. There are multiple others.....none you need to worry about. The place has some very strange energy that's disorienting. It feels like it's off kilter to some strong ley lines that are running counter to the road and your front door. Ley lines are energy lines that can enhance a business or make an area weird if things (roads, buildings, etc) are built on them at wrong angles. I think this might explain the feeling in your place and the numerous accidents on the road.
